Austin's Story
Sean first meets with Tim Byrd, who says he has an appointment. Dan Clark then walks up to him and says that Novak is trying to track down the location of the document, which tells the location of the money. Austin says that orders will be given to Xavier Capotta once the document is located. Once the location is tracked down Austin and Clark inform Xavier that he must take a squad in and retrieve it, which he does.
After he finds out that Xavier has been killed he informs the rest of his men in a meeting. He promises that the money will be theirs very soon. Byrd then reveals his master plan called Operation: Viper. Austin plans to interview for a job with the YAA and infiltrate them, allowing him to infect their computer system. He orders everyone to move out. Byrd then gives him a mask that belonged to a man named Yugostun for Clark to wear to keep his cover. Byrd then says that he'll see Austin in Washington. Austin then goes to interview, under the name of Sean Ripken, for his position at the YAA and meets Mark Bender. Austin soon receives a call from Byrd and tells him that he got the job. A few days later, Austin introduces himself to Nick and expresses his condolences for Roger's death. He asks Nick if he remembers any faces from the people they attacked, to make sure he never saw Byrd's face or Clark's. Nick says no. Austin then sneaks into the lab to gather weapons for his men. He tells Ellen to meet him outside so he can give her the weapons. He gives her the weapons and asks how the interviewing is coming. Ellen says that she found an open position as an associate.
He then returns to HQ to infect the computer system. However, Nick catches him in the act. Austin takes a swing at Nick, but Nick fights back and punctures his left ear drum. In pain, Austin points a gun at Campbell and reveals that his name isn't Sean Ripken, as he flees. He then meets up with Clark and a group of henchmen at Warehouse 43. He tells Byrd that they are preparing to attack. He then orders the men to move out, and they kill the guards. He and Clark advance inside. He looks through the drawers and finds all of the money in one drawer. He loads the money into a briefcase and sets a small bomb in the room. He yells for Clark, but Clark doesn't respond, so Austin runs outside and tells his men to retreat. He detonates the small bomb and leaves with his surviving henchmen. He carries the briefcase to his hideout and stores it in a secure room for the time being. One of his guards tells him that he thought he saw Clark wandering around their hideout. Austin says that they must worry about their plan of escape. He later speaks to Byrd on the phone, telling him that no agents can stop them, unaware that Agent Campbell is actually downstairs. He finally hears the gunshots and comes downstairs. One of his guards tells him that Agent Campbell was there. He then asks for Clark's phone number, to find out if he really is alive. He calls Clark and is shocked that he is alive. Austin asks Clark to help him by killing Nick Campbell and offers him double his original share in the cash. He also tells Clark that he has something to cover up his identity, referring to the mask. Later, Austin is talking to Byrd via instant messaging, when Wade is captured. He abandons his computer to talk to the prisoner. He tells Clark to force Wade to talk and heads back to his computer. He realizes that something is up because someone else has been instant-messaging Byrd, pretending to be him. When Nick and Wade escape, Austin orders Clark to go to the YAA headqurters to kill Nick, but Clark fails.
They transfer to Warehouse 43, but when the Campbell brothers find them there, he orders for them to be killed. Finally, Nick gets captured, and Austin expresses to him how revenge is sweet. He orders for Nick to be taken away and tied up. He orders Clark to find Wade. He tells Nick that there is a traitor in his midst. He then tells him to enjoy his stay because his men and he have to leave soon. However, Nick breaks free and holds Austin at gunpoint. Austin tells him that the money is upstairs in the closet. Nick pushes him over and looks for it, but Austin orders Clark to kill him.
Nick kills Clark and goes upstairs to retrieve the money. Austin then attacks him from behind, but Nick breaks his wrist and knocks him over. Nick arms a bomb right next to him and leaves with the money. When Nick detonates the bomb, Austin is killed in the explosion.
